Dear parents ,
Hope you are having a great day ahead. I would like to highlight some of the current and future happenings at school recently.
1. In-School PD-Our secondary team has been engaging in-school professional development over the past two days (November 18 &19). We have been exploring ideas and strategies related to Artificial intelligence and building language proficiency. This would eventually help us in teaching the students better. Dr Justin Zhang, who is an assistant professor and the IB educator certificate (IBEC) director at Namseoul University, Korea, was leading the sessions. He is well known in the IB as an established workshop leader and researcher in language and AI.
2. A follow up to my previous email- We need to consider how we educate students on how to be safe online and stay away from potential problems. There are a couple of links I am attaching for you to go through so that you can support your child at home.

3. M4 and M5 surveys- We are currently surveying our M4 and M5 students to gauge their interests in subjects so that we can better plan and guide them for the future. We will follow this up with having subject fairs for DP course selections for our M5 students on December 16. We will be sending out more information on this closer to the date.
4. Parent workshop on November 27- We will have a parent workshop on November 27. This is a response to one of our secondary goals of making service more visible throughout the continuum. The workshop will be led by our Service as action coordinators and our CAS coordinator. The PR department would be sending out more details. We hope that you can attend and learn from this. Having an understanding of service in MYP and CAS in DP would allow you to appreciate the importance of this in developing and achieving our school wide learning outcomes.
Regards,
Shameek Ghosh
